Job summary

ALLEGAN COUNTY RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE INC is seeking a Head Start Bus Assistant to support our Early Education Services. You will assist children boarding and exiting the bus, supervise seating, and help with breakfast or snack service as needed.

You will work part-time, non-exempt in a classroom/bus setting and ensure safety, confidentiality, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Prior experience with young children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR and Basic First Aid certification required.
• Pre-employment TB test required.
• Equivalents considered.

Responsibilities

• Rides the bus to/from Centers and assists children boarding/alighting.
• Ensures children are secured in proper restraints on the bus.
• Engages children with songs, stories, and activities to promote literacy.
• Assists bus driver with daily routines and safety checks.
• Prepares and serves meals; maintains sanitation and clean-up.
• Supports classroom activities as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to regulations.
