Essential Functions:

Assisted Self Check Out
  • Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
  • Approach and interact proactively with customers to recommend products and services appropriately.
  • Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers across various registers.
  • Move throughout the checkout area, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving products to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Thank customers for their business and invite them back to Lowe’s.
Customer Service
  • Provide excellent customer service by following Lowe's policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
  • Respond promptly and knowledgeably to customer and employee questions, guiding them through store areas and projects if needed.
  • Show sincere appreciation to customers.
  • Communicate information about stock, special orders, features, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs.
  • Coach, develop, and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
  • Use a cash register to process transactions, returns, and refunds according to guidelines.
  • Provide proper change and support to Front End associates.
  • Supervise, coach, and support Front End Team members.
  • Remove security tags, verify product info, and bag merchandise.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls or take messages.
  • Open additional registers as needed to ensure coverage.
  • Assist in line vesting for quicker checkout.
In-stock
  • Prepare register area at start and end of shifts, checking functionality and stocking supplies.
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages.
  • Enter and submit customer orders, print tickets, verify receipts, and sign loading tickets.
  • Review and process online orders and returns.
  • Verify prices and look up product info for price matching.
  • Record store-used items on inventory lists.
Clean and Safe Stores
  • Obtain safety bags and monitor cash in drawers.
  • Monitor store entrances/exits for security, assisting with alarms.
  • Detect shoplifting and security risks, reporting them promptly.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization following standards.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and noting hazards.
  • Follow safety requirements for daily duties and operate store equipment as needed.
General
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Less than 1 year of experience with computer use (inputting, accessing, modifying, outputting information).
  • Less than 1 year of experience with retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
  • 1-2 years of retail cashier experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.
Preferences:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years experience in product sales, customer needs assessment, credit, warranties, and features explanation.
  • 1-2 years experience as a head cashier or in a Lowe’s store department.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience including training and coaching.
  • Experience in shoplifting detection.
