Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
• Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
• Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
• Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
• Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe’s

Customer Service:

• Provides excellent customer service through the execution of Lowe's policies, procedures, and programs
• Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Responds promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when needed
• Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
• Communicates product information, warranties, and benefits related to Lowe’s programs
• Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
• Provides proper monetary change and supports front-end team members
• Removes security tags, verifies product info, and bags merchandise for customers
• Answers calls and directs or takes messages as needed
• Opens additional registers when necessary to ensure sufficient coverage
• Assists in line vesting for quicker checkout turnaround

In-stock:

• Prepares register area at shift start and end, checking functionality and stocking supplies
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and verifies customer orders and online returns
• Looks up product info and price match options
• Records store use items

Clean and Safe Stores:

• Monitors cash drawer and security alarms
• Detects shoplifting and communicates risks to management
• Maintains store cleanliness and organization
• Ensures safety standards are followed, including equipment operation and hazard mitigation

General:

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of computer experience
• Less than 1 year of retail technology experience
• 1-2 years of retail cashier experience
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds

Preferences:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in customer needs assessment and product sales
• Experience as a head cashier and in retail departments
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in shoplifting detection
