Job summary

Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, MA, seeks a part‑time Chef Instructor for our Recreational Program. The candidate will combine advanced cooking skills with engaging teaching to help students gain kitchen confidence.

Responsibilities include setting up the kitchen, delivering up to 30 minutes of lecture and 3.5 hours of hands‑on cooking, and delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Culinary school graduate or a minimum of 5 years working in the food service industry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, orally and in writing.
• Candidates must be able to pass a CORI background check.

Responsibilities

• Set‑up kitchen and lecture space as needed, with inventory check at least 1 hour before class.
• Deliver up to 30 minutes of classroom lecture and 3.5 hours of hands‑on cooking.
• Provide direction and feedback to recreational students to ensure an outstanding experience for customers.
• Maintain high safety and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure all food items are cooked and served properly under sanitary conditions.
• Adapt teaching style to diverse groups (adults, teens, beginners, advanced).
• Multi‑task and monitor kitchen activities while instructing.
• Provide outstanding customer service to guests at all times.
• Leave the kitchen organized for cleaning and return items to proper locations.
