Job summary

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Instructor to lead recreational gymnastics classes for participants of varying ages and skill levels. The role emphasizes creating a safe, positive atmosphere and promoting safety in line with YMCA policies.

You will plan lessons, teach proper techniques, and supervise equipment and participants. This position requires at least 1 year of gymnastics/group management experience, the ability to work evenings/weekends as needed, and

Qualifications

• 1 year of gymnastics and group management experience.
• Must be at least 15 years old; 16 preferred.
• Ability to teach the development of skills and proper techniques.
• Mature judgement, effective communication and sound decision making.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparation and implementation of age- and level-appropriate lesson plans.
• Instruct and educate participants on gymnastics techniques and safety, inspect equipment before/after class.
• Enforce YMCA and Gymnastics facility policies and supervise safely.
• Greet members, provide guidance and motivation during and after classes.
• Complete attendance, progression, evaluations and new gymnast orientation records.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; assist in training new personnel.
