Job summary

The Northeast Bronx YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is hiring a Group Leader to support after-school programs. This role focuses on creating safe, engaging environments, guiding learning activities, and providing academic support to school-age children.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, collaborating with specialists, and maintaining program records while upholding YMCA values and inclusivity in a diverse community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• College credits preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience with children under 13.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants at all times.
• Collaborate with Content/Activity Specialists on age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Provide homework help and tutoring sessions.
• Create engaging activities and events focusing on SEL, literacy, and leadership.
• Prepare lessons and supplies for daily activities.
• Maintain accurate program documentation.
