Job summary

Northfield Area Family YMCA in Northfield, MN seeks a Part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, TRX, and kettlebell sessions, ensuring safety and a welcoming, engaging environment for all members.

The role requires CPR/AED, First Aid, and other certifications within 30 days of hire, plus national group fitness credentials. Reports to the Program Coordinator & Director, and maintains class attendance records.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• National certification in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
• Builds effective relationships with members and helps connect them with the YMCA.
• Maintains knowledge of wellness trends to provide information and support to members.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and responds to emergency situations.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
