Job summary

Tulane University in New Orleans is seeking part-time Group Exercise Instructors within the Department of Campus Recreation. Instructors lead scheduled group classes safely and effectively, attend trainings, and support a welcoming, inclusive exercise environment.

Responsibilities include recording participant counts, signaling equipment care, cleaning up after class, reporting issues, and collaborating with staff to maintain a high-quality fitness program for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Group Exercise Certification from an Accredited Organization (AFAA, ACE, Powder Blue, Zumba etc.)
• A current American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED and Blood Borne Pathogen Professional Rescuer Certification, or the ability to obtain within 2 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Instruct scheduled group exercise classes in a safe and effective manner.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.
• After each class, clean up aerobic room and closet, handle sound and exercise equipment with care, and report any problems or malfunctions.
• Do class counts of participants and record the numbers for evaluation.
