Job description

Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Golf Course Superintendent or their designee, perform a wide variety of grounds keeping and general maintenance functions at the Municipal Golf Course during the Golf Season.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

1. Performs a variety of skilled tasks in golf course maintenance, repair, and construction of the golf course.
2. Meets and exceeds the requirements of Part Time Groundskeeper II (Seasonal).
3. Operates equipment per Director of Golf Course Properties discretion.
4. May make minor repairs under the direction of the Director of Golf Course Properties and other authorized staff.
5. Must be able to work unsupervised in all aspects of golf course maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

1. Ability to show up on time.
2. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
3. Prior knowledge of golf course equipment.
4. Flexible work hours.

Experience and Training:

1. Previous golf course maintenance experience is required.
2. Valid Driver’s License required.
3. Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of golf course equipment.
4. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
5. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, lay, crouch, push, pull, stretch, bend, walk to perform job tasks correctly.
6. Must be able to work in a variety of work environments including extreme cold, hot, wet, and dusty conditions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the supervision of the Director of Golf Course Properties or other authorized supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May lead a team of GREENSKEEPER I and GREENSKEEPER II in projects as directed.
