Job summary

Town of Gilbert is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker I - Part Time to support the Cactus Yards site. The role involves turf maintenance, mowing, trimming, planting and general landscape duties, with an expected 20–26 hours per week and a non-benefited status.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, six months of grounds or related experience, a valid Arizona driver license, and the ability to operate mowers, chainsaws and other power tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months of grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor experience or training.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment.
• Mows, trims, weeding, planting, cultivation, fertilization, watering and pruning operations.
• General landscape and cleanup duties, including trash/debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup.
• Maintains trees using chainsaws, stump grinders, pole saws and chippers.
