SHIFT & SCHEDULE

Job Description

Part Time experienced Groom required to cover Full Time Groom’s days off.

This is a small family yard with 3, possibly 4 large horses, so the successful person must be confident and capable handling fit, hunting horses on the ground.

Days required will be Thursday afternoons and a split shift on Sundays.

The Position will involve:

  1. All yard work to a high standard - mucking out, sweeping, hays, waters, etc.
  2. Tacking up horses for the riders and untacking
  3. Tack cleaning
  4. Turning horses out and bringing them in from the field
  5. Checking for injury and reporting to owner or head groom
  6. Brushing off and picking out feet
  7. Making sure hay and water are in stables and feed when required

The Person will be:

  1. Local to the area
  2. Experienced in all yard duties
  3. Able to spot injury or illness
  4. Confident and capable handling large, fit horses
  5. Able to commit to the Thursday pm and split shift Sunday
  6. Happy to tack up for the riders

A good hourly rate will be paid to the successful person who can provide fully checkable horse-related references.
