JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Plant Science Applied Weed Physiology Lab in the College of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for a Part-Time Student Technical Assistant. This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (approximately 20 hours per week during academic terms and a maximum of 40 hours per week during academic breaks) Student Technical Assistant position.
A punctual, responsible, talented, motivated, team worker undergraduate student will be recruited to join the Applied Weed Physiology Laboratory at Penn State. The successful candidate will perform manual and routine to semi-skilled technical tasks in support of research. Activities involve work in the greenhouse, laboratory, and in the field. Specifically, the incumbent will be tasked with cleaning seed lots, measure plant biomass, collect and enter data, and eventual tedious activities but necessary to keep the project running. Initially, student will report to the Principal Investigator, Lab Technician, and other members of the group. Development of their own research projects is a possibility depending on initial performance.
