Job summary

Citizen Action of NY is seeking a temporary canvasser for NY-17, focused on door-to-door conversations about healthcare, childcare, housing, and other issues impacting working families. You will discuss campaigns, recruit volunteers, and document responses using provided tools.

You will report to the Temporary Field Director and work roughly 10 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $21.50 per hour. The role emphasizes independence, reliability, and respectful engagement with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Go door-to-door in NY-17 on a part-time schedule.
• Explain campaigns and engage residents on key issues.
• Record responses and track outreach data.

Responsibilities

• Go door-to-door multiple times a week for 10 hours.

• Invite interested people to get involved with Citizen Action.
• Record responses and accurately track canvassing data.
• Identify community members for follow-up by organizers.
• Meet outreach and recruitment goals; perform duties as required.
