Job summary

Citizen Action of NY is seeking a temporary canvasser to promote stronger AI data center regulation in New York. The role involves door-to-door outreach, engaging residents on impacts like electricity demand and water use, and gathering feedback to support grassroots advocacy.

You’ll report to the Temporary Field Director and work about 10 hours per week for 8 weeks, with pay of $21.50 per hour. Based in New York State, priority Buffalo area. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Go door-to-door for 10 hours weekly.
• Discuss AI data centers and regulation.
• Talk about electricity, water, and environment impacts.
• Share information about Citizen Action campaigns.
• Invite involvement and recruit volunteers.
• Record responses and track data.
• Identify people for follow-up.
• Meet outreach goals.
• Perform other duties as required.
