Job summary

Liberty University is seeking a Graduate Student Assistant to work on campus in an academic support role. The GSA will assist professors, grade assignments, manage scheduling, and communicate with students using Canvas and MS Teams.

Typical duties include preparing materials, tracking attendance, proctoring exams, and providing accommodations as needed. The position requires enrollment in a master's or doctoral program and living in the local area to report on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be accepted into, or enrolled in a master's or doctorate program by the start date.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to understand all technical systems that support the role.
• Must live in the local area to report to work on campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a support role for the assigned professor in class related functions.
• Assist and conduct research under the supervisor's direction as needed.
• Grade subjective and objective quizzes, tests, and assignments within university timeframes.
• Create and edit PowerPoint, Excel, or Word documents.
• Maintain attendance tracking using Top-Hat and post in Canvas.
• Communicate with students via email and Canvas regarding absences and course questions.
• Maintain regular office hours to assist students on campus or virtually.
• Adhere to Liberty University policies and collaborate with department and dean/supervisor.
