Job summary

Luna Community College seeks a part-time Government and Community Relations Liaison to represent the college with state and local government, community partners, businesses, and nonprofits. The role works with the President and senior leadership to advance priorities and monitor policy developments.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in political science or related field, at least three years in government relations, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science or related field.
• Minimum of three years in government relations or related field.
• Experience with New Mexico Legislature preferred.
• Experience in higher education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance NM legislative and governmental priorities.
• Monitor state legislative, regulatory, budget, and policy developments.
• Coordinate meetings, campus visits, legislative presentations, and other government engagement activities.
• Prepare briefing materials, legislative correspondence, testimony, presentations, talking points, and reports for governmental audiences.
• Represent Luna at government and community meetings and events as requested by the President.
