Golf Shop Attendant (Part-Time) is a critical part of the customer service experience at Riverside Golf Course and plays an essential role in customer engagement and for ensuring accurate customer transactions. Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Positively interact with guests to ensure their visit is a first-class experience from the time of arrival, throughout their golfing experience. Be an ambassador for the Riverside golf property at all times.
- Process golf fees, merchandise, and concession transactions utilizing Riverside’s point of sale software, handling cash and processing credit card transactions, as well as reconciling daily close-outs.
- Actively engage with Riverside’s customers on a daily basis with the goal of accurately collecting every customer’s profile data such as their name, phone number, zip code, and e-mail address. This also includes ensuring all repeat customer transactions are accounted for and that their data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Be available to work morning, afternoon, or evening shifts performing both opening and closing duties utilizing provided operational checklists.
- Assist with answering the phone in assisting customers with the reservation of tee times, answering questions, etc.; maintaining professional and pleasant telephone manners at all times.
- Be knowledgeable with the merchandise for sale in the Riverside golf shop. Acknowledge and when necessary assist customers who are browsing the golf shop retail area with suggestive selling and answering questions.
- Handle any customer inquiries and/or complaints in a professional and timely manner. Report all complaints to the Head Golf Professional.
- Assist the Head Golf Professional with supervising and engaging with the Guest Service Attendant staff on a daily basis while on duty.
- Work with and assist the Head Golf Professional to ensure that the golf car fleet, clubhouse grounds, and main clubhouse facilities are consistently clean and free of any unsightly trash or clutter.
- Work with the Riverside Golf Course Staff to constantly monitor the Riverside tee sheet to ensure maximum utilization of each day’s business.
- Keep golfers adequately informed of the activities on the golf product and encourage their participation when necessary.
- Be aware of golf course maintenance programs and course conditions on a daily basis.
- Develop dialogue with customers concerning their playing habits at Riverside Golf Course and other golf courses. Note and report customer likes and dislikes with the Riverside product to the Head Golf Professional.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with Riverside Golf Course’s Head Golf Professional on all pertinent matters.
- Coordinate with and assist the Beverage Cart Attendants with stocking, restocking, and reconciling inventory and beverage cart transactions.
- Promote and be a steward of the golf course at all times.
- Come to work on time, properly groomed, and in uniform for every scheduled shift.
- Regular attendance at work.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Ability to transport self from building to building. Employee will be exposed to seasonal temperatures and will walk, stand, kneel, squat and twist. Must be able to walk on loose, uneven and sloped ground. Employee will be exposed to insects as well as chemical, mechanical, water and dust hazards. Ability to routinely lift materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Must have an outgoing personality and be customer service oriented. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact and communicate both orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic math skills related to cash handling, credit card transactions, and daily cash receipts. Must be available to work weekdays, weekend days, and holidays. Knowledge of computers.
Minimum Education, Experience And Certification
Must be at least 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of previous service-oriented or hospitality industry experience preferred. Golf experience preferred. Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Certification required within two (2) weeks of employment. Valid Texas driver’s license with driving record that meets City guidelines.
Part-time employees are not eligible to receive the City of Victoria benefits package.
