Job summary

Esplanade at St Marys in St Marys, GA is seeking a part-time Golf Course Starter/Ranger to enhance member and guest experiences. You will start players on the 1st tee, explain daily rules, track players and keep pace of play, while maintaining course safety and etiquette.

Opportunities exist to learn golf operations through hands-on involvement. The role requires availability for early mornings, weekends and holidays, with a focus on customer service, reliability and teamwork in a resort-style

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Must be available to work early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Regular and reliable attendance expected.

Responsibilities

• Starts players on the first tee, explaining the rules of play for the day.
• Maintains an accurate starting sheet so the whereabouts of players are known.
• Cues groups to move to the first tee and ensures not more than one group on the tee at a time.
• Tours the golf course, assisting players to maintain posted pace of play.
• Maintains proper spacing on the golf course to avoid delays.
• Completes the golfer tracking report daily.
• Reminds players of the cart rules of the day.
• Repairs ball marks and collects trash on the course.
• Replaces hazard stakes or directional signage as needed.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop on a regular basis.
• Monitors course and ensures customer satisfaction.
• Assists golfers when needed.
• Observes safe work practices.
• Performs other duties as required.
