Job summary

Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surg is seeking a part-time GI/Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our outpatient team. The RN will prepare patients, assist in endoscopic procedures, and document details while ensuring safety and high-quality care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the procedure team, accurate record-keeping, and maintaining a safe, well-equipped environment. Experience in endoscopy is preferred; Virginia licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Virginia or with multi-state licensure.
• BLS certification required at start of employment.
• ACLS certification optional, obtainable within six months if applicable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in endoscopy/gastroenterology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity, procedure, and obtain informed consent.
• Prepare procedure room and supplies for the endoscopy.
• Assist in patient positioning and safety during procedures.
• Accurately document procedure details and events.
• Act as liaison between procedure team and other departments.
• Monitor environment and equipment functionality for safety.
