Position Summary
McCormick Taylor is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience on PennDOT projects to join our team. The primary duties are to prepare and review Subsurface Exploration Planning Submissions, Structure Foundation Reports, and Geotechnical Engineering Reports in accordance with PennDOT DM-4 and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications. Qualified candidates should have a strong background in PennDOT geotechnical reviews, subsurface boring, sampling, and testing contract development, and design of Earth Retaining Systems and temporary shoring systems. Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software (LPILE, PCSTABL, ABLRFD, or similar) is required. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, be able to handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines. This is a part‑time position with a strong preference Pennsylvania-based applicants, however remote applicants will be considered for those able to obtain a Pennsylvania PE license. Position has the potential to grow into a full‑time role if mutually beneficial.
