Job summary

Clemson University is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry. This role supports routine technical tasks and simple lab procedures, with emphasis on data handling and collaboration within the lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related health care or lab experience may be acceptable.
• 12 semester hours biology and/or chemistry accepted in lieu of diploma.
• Registration as ASCP Certified Laboratory Assistant or equivalent registry required.
• Completion of formal training program for laboratory assistants at hospital or academic institution.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine technical tasks and simple lab procedures to support staff.
• Assist in data analysis: identify datasets, download data, perform QC, and submit data to pipelines with supervision.
• Communicate project updates within and outside the laboratory.
