Job summary

The University of Tampa is seeking a part-time Lab Instructor for General Chemistry I/II laboratories. The position involves teaching 3-hour labs, explaining safety procedures, and guiding students through experiments and data collection.

The incumbent will create semester syllabi, hold office hours, and collaborate with the General Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator to manage Canvas LMS. Prior lab teaching experience is required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry or related field.
• Graduate degree in chemistry or related field preferred.
• Experience teaching General Chemistry I/II laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more 3-hour General Chemistry I or II laboratories per week for a semester.
• Explain safety procedures, the experiments and expectations for each lab.
• Assist students with the experimental procedures and data collection.
• Create syllabus each semester using guidelines provided by department.
• Provide office hours for students.
• Manage Canvas LMS in consultation with the General Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator.
