Job summary

UW Continuum College seeks a part-time instructional assistant for the non-credit Game Design certificate program. This role assists in online and in-person components, supports the instructor, and helps manage student inquiries and progress across 10-week courses.

Responsibilities include facilitating remote sessions when needed, grading support, and ensuring curriculum continuity while upholding privacy laws and professional standards for adult learners.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of professional experience in game mechanics and systems design.
• Familiarity with game study roles and game development.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Support instructor in facilitating remote class sessions (e.g., Zoom).
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours via email and discussion boards.
• Monitor student engagement with online course materials and peers.
• Check in with students to support progress in the course.
• Coordinate with instructor to ensure curriculum continuity and alignment.
• Provide grading support as directed by the instructor.
• Collaborate with program staff to address student feedback.
• Observe privacy laws (FERPA, HIPAA) and maintain professionalism.
