Job summary

Centre, Inc. is seeking a Community Corrections Specialist to maintain accountability, safety, and structure within a residential reentry environment. You will interact directly with residents, monitor compliance, and document activity to ensure program expectations are met.

  • Conducting breath tests, urinalysis testing, and other compliance checks.
  • Performing pat searches, room searches, and vehicle searches.
  • Completing incident reports and documenting resident activity.
  • Maintaining safety and security within the facility while interacting professionally with residents.

*BONUS* This position is eligible for a bonus of up to $8,000 for full-time employees and $4,000 for part-time employees. The bonus will be paid out in two parts: (1) following the successful completion of the six-month probationary period ($3,000 for full-time employees; $1,500 for part-time employees) and (2) following one year of employment ($5,000 for full-time employees; $2,500 for part-time employees). Full-time employees must maintain full-time status throughout the entirety of their first year to receive the full-time bonus, and part-time employees must average 16 hours per week to be eligible for the bonus.

Along with excellent training and experience, Centre offers competitive compensation and benefits that include:

  • Pay: $19.00 to $24.00 (Depends on experience)
  • Health and Welfare: Employees may be eligible to receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of up to $5.09 per hour in addition to base pay (Up to $407.20 per pay period!)
  • Overnight shift differential: $2.50 per hour
  • 100% employer‑paid individual medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance for full‑time employees

  • Double‑time pay on holidays worked

Current Scheduling Needs:

  • Current openings are primarily for overnight shifts (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) and evening shifts (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). While these are the current scheduling needs, specific shifts and schedules are based on operational needs and are not guaranteed.

As a Community Corrections Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining accountability, safety, and structure within a residential reentry environment. This position combines direct interaction with residents, monitoring responsibilities, and documentation to ensure residents remain compliant with program expectations.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Signing residents in and out of the facility and verifying approved movements
  • Confirming employment schedules and other approved activities
  • Monitoring resident accountability through GPS systems and other tracking tools
  • Conducting breath tests, urinalysis testing, and other compliance checks
  • Performing pat searches, room searches, and vehicle searches
  • Completing incident reports and documenting resident activity
  • Maintaining safety and security within the facility while interacting professionally with residents

Candidates who are extended a conditional offer must complete an exhaustive background check process prior to beginning employment, which includes a criminal background check, drug screen, professional reference check, employment check, and PREA institutional employer checks.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Some college education focused in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess at least two years of experience working with criminal justice treatment programs.

This position also requires effective communication skills, the ability to pay attention to detail, and proficiency in the use of computers, including use of the internet and Microsoft Office.
