Job summary

Food Lion in Rocky Mount, NC is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and support the Customer Service Manager in maintaining store standards. You will engage customers, process transactions and help bag and load orders with care.

Responsibilities include greeting customers by name, managing cashier duties, and keeping the front end clean and efficient while following Food Lion policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform cashier and service center duties.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt for ease of bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and scan orders and handle payments.
• Follow cash handling procedures and overrides.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the order to their car.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers.
• Report any register malfunction to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
• Adhere to all company guidelines and safety procedures.
