Job summary

The University of Maine at Farmington seeks an Assistant Freeski Coach to support the director of snowsports with our intercollegiate varsity Freeski/snowboard team. This part-time/temp role involves leading practices, developing athletes, and elevating UMF’s presence on the circuit.

Season runs October 15 to April 15; stipend is $4,000 prorated based on hire date. The successful candidate will travel with the squad, manage logistics, and help build the team for future seasons.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Solid fundamentals in freeskiing/snowboard and competition principles.
• Reliable leadership with integrity, adaptability, and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Flexible schedule for afternoon/evening trainings and weekend trips.

Responsibilities

• Run afternoon and evening practice sessions with real-time feedback and tactical insight.
• Travel with the squad for weekend competitions, handling event-day logistics and athlete prep.
• Transport the team to venues while maintaining morale and culture.
• Leverage networking to identify and recruit future UMF freeski talent.
