Job summary

The Guidance Center in Michigan is seeking a part-time Forensic Interviewer for the Kids-TALK Program. You will conduct developmentally appropriate forensic interviews of children and adolescents in a child-centered setting.

Role involves collaborating with the Multidisciplinary Team on investigations of abuse and trauma, following Michigan protocols. Regular hours are Mon–Fri 8:30am–5pm with some evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Related Field is required.
• Experience and/or certification as a Forensic Interviewer preferred.
• One year of experience working with abused/neglected children and adolescents and a multidisciplinary team is required.
• Working knowledge of dynamics of child maltreatment and/or child development is required.
• Ability to engage children 17 and under from diverse backgrounds; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally and legally sound forensic interviews of children and adolescents.
• Obtain a statement from a child in a child-centered, sensitive, unbiased and truth-seeking manner.
• Conduct interviews with alleged victims of child abuse, neglect or other trauma.
• Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team as part of ongoing investigations.
• Maintain schedule Monday through Friday 8:30am–5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends.
