Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining is hiring a part-time Food Unit Lead at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. You will coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house activities and help ensure a smooth dining experience for guests, students, and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous front of house and back of house supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service by giving one-on-one attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverages in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control.
• Helps plan menus and ensures timely, efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals.
• Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites work flow.
• Uses systems for daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, cash reports, payroll, timekeeping).
• Manages cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
• Directs sanitation and safety of the facility and staff per regulations, and maintains sanitation schedules.
