Job summary

East Penn School District is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to support daily meal preparation and service in our school kitchens, ensuring quality, safety, and timely service for students.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and the ability to follow HACCP and USDA policies; you will maintain production records, rotate duties, and assist across stations from line prep to cashier.

• Is able to independently read, write, speak and comprehend the English language
• Ability to communicate courteously, efficiently and effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, staff, administrators, parents and representatives of outside organizations
• Dependability, punctuality and initiative are essential
• Good personal hygiene

Responsibilities

• Follow all HACCP and USDA food policies and regulations
• Maintain accurate and complete daily production records (meal counts, etc.)
• Rotation of all food service jobs as assigned daily including line prep, food prep, set up, cashier, clean up, dish room, catering, server and stock room
• All other duties as assigned

Status (FLSA): 10 month position, non-exempt, hourly
Reporting Relationships: Ascending Food Service Leader; descending - none
Position Summary: To assist in all areas of food service as assigned by the Coordinator or Leader.
Qualifications: Possesses a valid Pennsylvania driver's license at all times
Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent
