Job summary

County of San Mateo is seeking Food Service Workers I/II - Extra Help (Part-Time) at the San Mateo Medical Center to support meal preparation, serving, tray setup, and delivery. Positions are extra-help; hours vary by department needs and shifts. Requires a California Food Handler Card and possibly a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a California Food Handler Card for duration of employment or obtain within six months.
• Some positions require possession of a Class C California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks in meal preparation and serving.
• Prepare salads, sandwiches, beverages, and simple desserts.
• Set up trays and serve meals to patients or staff.
• Deliver food and supplies; assist with menus and catering schedules.
• Clean dishes, equipment, and kitchen facilities; maintain sanitation.
• Perform basic office tasks related to ordering and receiving supplies.
• Drive a truck/van to deliver food and supplies when needed.
