Job summary

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording proper food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, and operating a computerized cash register.

HACCP compliance, outstanding customer service, and effective communication with patrons and co-workers are expected. The role may require Serv Safe and Basic Life Support depending on location.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Previous customer service experience and money handling.
• Ability to read, write, follow oral and written directions, and perform basic math.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required depending on location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper food temperatures.
• Set up and maintain a clean, sanitized serving area.
• Prepare and serve food items; restock food areas.
• Operate equipment and cash registers as needed.
• Provide outstanding customer service and communicate with patrons and co-workers.
• Ensure HACCP guidelines are followed and food safety standards maintained.
