Responsibilities:

  • Greet all bank customers as they enter the branch in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Operate a teller window to process a variety of transactions within established guidelines, including processing individual and commercial deposits, savings and checking transactions, cash advances, loan payments, credit card payments, and other transactions.
  • Enter customers' transactions into the computer to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
  • Assist customers with questions regarding their accounts; place holds on accounts as appropriate.
  • Order daily supply of cash, count incoming cash, balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer and compare totaled amounts with data displayed on the computer screen.
  • Maintain good customer relations by providing courteous, efficient service and developing new business by introducing non-customers to bank services and presenting current customers with additional services; identify and respond to cross-sale opportunities by referring customers to the appropriate bank personnel.
  • Record customer interactions in the bank's CRM platform.

Education and Experience:

High school degree or equivalent required; six months to one year of related experience and/or training required in the area of cash handling or customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and verbally); ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Mathematical Skills:

Requires ability to perform basic mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Requires ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions; must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell products and services; ability to accurately handle large sums of cash; must be goal-oriented and able to achieve individual goals as well as work as a team player to achieve departmental and/or bank goals; flexibility is necessary with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, with an ability to quickly learn other bank-related programs.

Salary:

  • $16.00 hour
  • $500 bonus after 6 months of employment at INB
