Job summary

JRP Energy in Ashland, VA seeks a hands-on, part-time Mechanical Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of our fleet, fueling equipment, and related electronic systems.

This role blends mechanical and electronic work across gas/diesel trucks, pumps, and Smart Tank monitoring tech. You will diagnose issues, maintain records, and collaborate with Operations and Fleet teams in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment.
• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical components.
• Ability to learn and work with vehicle technology and monitoring systems.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and fueling equipment.
• Conduct routine services such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine when outside service is needed.
• Inspect and diagnose fuel tanks, pumps, and related fueling equipment.
• Install and troubleshoot Smart Tank monitoring systems and fuel diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate service records and support preventative maintenance.
