Job summary

JRP (James River Petroleum) is seeking a mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to maintain and repair fueling equipment, tank monitoring systems, and related equipment at customer and company locations. This field-based role requires travel to customer sites and participation in an on-call rotation for emergency service needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically skilled, customer-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of maintenance, mechanical, facilities, or related experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• Basic electrical knowledge preferred.
• Entry-level computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair cardlock fueling equipment, customer fueling systems, and company facilities.
• Coordinate and execute customer tank deliveries and equipment installations.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot tank monitoring systems, including SmarTank equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections at cardlock fueling locations.
• Diagnose and repair fuel pumps, hoses, nozzles, fixtures, and other fueling equipment.
• Perform general building maintenance, light electrical work, landscaping, and facility repairs.
• Respond to equipment failures, service calls, petroleum spills, and other emergency situations.
• Deliver equipment, parts, and materials to customer and company locations as needed.
• Complete work orders, inspections, service documentation, and maintenance records using company systems.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and tank monitoring components.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate repairs and project activities.
• Represent JRP professionally while working at customer sites, fueling facilities, company locations, and other assigned properties.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency support outside of normal business hours.
