Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Dayton is seeking a part-time Fitness Counselor for the Kettering location. The role provides instruction, motivation, and support to members in the fitness center and wellness areas, with schedule opening Tuesday and Thursday 5am–9:30am.

You will promote wellness programs, ensure safety, and maintain equipment cleanliness while upholding the YMCA's welcoming values and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18+ years old.
• 2-year degree in Physical Education/Exercise Science or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as Personal Training or Group Exercise are helpful.
• Strong interest in the fitness field.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and motivation in the Fitness Center.
• Remain visible to participants while on duty.
• Promote wellness and YMCA programs.
• Ensure safety and enforce wellness center rules.
• Maintain cleanliness of Fitness Center.
