Job summary

The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a lecturer part-time temporary position, with an anticipated start date September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a part-time period throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.

The appointment period is generally alignment with the nine-month academic quarter (September 1 - June 15) at a .33 FTE. The positions are dependent on curricular need and available funding.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a Master’s or PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Business or a related discipline.
• Candidates should have a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness or a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field.
• Candidates with limited prior teaching experience must be willing to commit to onboarding with mentoring by experienced faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in topics including introductory courses in finance, corporate finance, portfolio management, and derivatives.
• Prepare and deliver rigorous course content that meets academic standards.
• Coordinate with the Area Coordinator and Milgard School of Business administration.
• Use teaching strategies and student evaluation methods and inform students of course requirements.
• Hold regular office hours and submit course grades by the deadline.
