Job summary

The City of Baldwin Park is seeking a motivated Finance Intern to join the Finance Department as a part-time, non-benefited position. The role offers hands-on experience in municipal finance, accounting, and admin tasks while supporting day-to-day operations.

Under supervision, duties include data entry, verification of statistical and financial information, and preparing reports. Work up to 20 hours weekly; shifts between 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from an accredited college and/or university with a finance, accounting, business administration major.
• One (1) year of increasingly responsible general or accounting clerical experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of submitting employment application.
• Experience working in the public sector is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Data entry, verification of statistical and financial information, and preparation of reports and accounting forms.
• Maintenance and organization of records; filing and sorting documents; mail distribution.
• Provide general administrative support for departmental operations; answer phones and greet visitors.
• Respond to inquiries in a timely, courteous and confidential manner.
