Job summary

Town of Superior Colorado is seeking a flexible, part-time Code Enforcement Officer to provide information, educate residents, and ensure compliance with municipal codes.

The position is non-exempt, 24–29 hours per week, with a schedule that may include weekdays and some weekends and evenings, under supervision.

Hiring range $26.83–$33.46 per hour, depending on qualifications, with duties including investigations, notices, records, and coordination with local agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college courses in Code Enforcement or related field.
• Minimum one year of code enforcement, law enforcement, or related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a current Colorado Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR within six months.
• Ability to obtain CACEO Basic Certification within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain CACEO Advanced Certification within 24 months.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Investigate code violations and resident complaints.
• Patrol the Town and enforce municipal code including public nuisance and safety violations.
• Write and post violation notices and issue verbal and written warnings.
• Answer inquiries and explain applicable code regulations to the public.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports on code violations with photos.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professionals contacted in the course of work.
• Conduct investigations of reported non-criminal offenses to collect evidence and statements.
• Coordinate efforts with Boulder County Sheriff's Office on violations.
• May provide testimony in court regarding investigations and citations.
• Work with other department staff to address daily field issues.
• Coordinate with Sheriff's Office on hazards and vehicle obstructions.
• Support construction observation and traffic monitoring.
