• Lead or facilitate instruction, moderate online discussions, answer student questions, and grade assignments when teaching online SOC 131/232/399 as applicable.
• Screen and contact applicants as needs arise; transcripts may be unofficial at application time.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Language & Cultural Studies, Anthropology andSociology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for apart-time faculty position to teach courses in Sociology.

The Sociology Part-Time Instructor will lead or facilitateinstruction for Sociology courses such as SOC 131 IntroductorySociology, SOC 245 Sociology of the Family, SOC 310 Population andSociety, SOC 365 Social Change in Appalachia, SOC 380 Jobs andProfessionalization, SOC 300 Animals and Society, SOC 383Environment and Society, and SOC 399 Gender & Society.Instruction may be online or in-person, depending on SociologyProgram needs. Applicants should specify in their cover letter ifthey are only available to teach in one format. Part-TimeInstructors chosen to facilitate online for the SOC 131Introductory Sociology, SOC 232 Social Statistics, or SOC 399Gender & Society online course will work with the courseinstructor to moderate online discussion, answer student questions,grade assignments, etc. Applicants should have at least 18 hours in a related graduate degree such as Sociology, AppliedSociology orCriminology. Sociology M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.preferred.
