MCSRC Faculty Development Specialist (Part‑Time) Position Summary

The Maryland Clinical Simulation Resource Consortium (MCSRC) is seeking a dynamic and collaborative part‑time faculty member in the role of Development Specialist to support statewide simulation‑based education initiatives. This part‑time faculty member will work closely with the MCSRC Faculty Lead/Project Director to support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of faculty development programs and simulation initiatives across Maryland nursing education programs. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in simulation‑based education, faculty development, and project collaboration, with the flexibility to contribute across a variety of educational and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and facilitating courses, assisting with curriculum and resource development, supporting emerging initiatives, participating in strategic planning activities, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance MCSRC goals.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of MCSRC faculty development initiatives and educational programs.
  • Facilitate or co‑facilitate courses, workshops, webinars, and simulation‑based educational activities.
  • Assist in the development of asynchronous and synchronous educational content, including online learning modules, instructional resources, and simulation materials.
  • Collaborate on the design, implementation, and evaluation of simulation‑related initiatives and special projects.
  • Contribute to the development of educational resources, toolkits, guides, and curricular materials.
  • Participate in statewide meetings, planning sessions, affinity groups, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Support data collection, evaluation activities, and outcome reporting related to faculty development programs and simulation initiatives.
  • Assist with learner engagement, communication, and participant support activities.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives involving emerging technologies, virtual reality, simulation pedagogy, and faculty competency development.
  • Perform additional project‑related duties as assigned to support MCSRC strategic priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, EdD, or related doctoral degree) in nursing, healthcare simulation, education, or related field required.
  • Current Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification required.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator-Advanced (CHSE‑A) certification preferred.
  • Experience in simulation‑based education and faculty development.
  • Knowledge of healthcare simulation standards and best practices.
  • Experience facilitating educational programs, workshops, or simulation activities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
  • Experience with educational technology platforms, online learning tools, and curriculum development preferred.
