Compensation Range: Hourly: $34.03 - $44.35

Location: Remote, USA

Position Summary

The JFK School of Law in the College of Law and Public Service invites applications for part-time faculty in the Juris Doctor program. Candidates should have experience in course development for JD programs, JD‑level curricula, or attorney training. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. The role works closely with the Associate Dean, Academic Program Director, and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Functions
  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive, student‑centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals).
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding course content.
  • Identify at‑risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
  • Background in legal doctrine and practice with experience in JD program or JD‑level instruction or presentation on legal topics.
  • Ability to create substantive course content.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, preferably in the delivery of legal education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the online delivery of education and the supporting systems.
  • At least 2 years of online teaching experience, especially in a JD program or at a JD level.
  • Curriculum development experience.
