Job summary

National University in San Diego invites applications for part-time Pre-Law and Paralegal Studies faculty at the JFK School of Law. The successful candidate will teach doctrinal and practice-oriented courses and engage remotely with students, including weekly online synchronous sessions.

Required: Juris Doctor, five years of legal practice, and the ability to use educational technology. Preference for online teaching experience and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school (ABA preferred).
• Minimum of five years of legal practice experience.
• Proficiency in the use of technology in the delivery of education.

Responsibilities

• Teach live, synchronous online class sessions.
• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks by the stated deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
• Provide feedback to the Academic Program Director regarding necessary updates or improvements to course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services to provide support as needed.
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
