San Jacinto College is seeking part-time faculty to teach humanities-related coursework. Positions are reviewed as openings arise and are not current vacancies. Instructors are hired on an “as needed” basis and must be prepared to work for the duration of the course, with potential evening or weekend classes.

Teaching may occur at the on-site location and via various delivery methods based on needs. Required qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Humanities or related discipline, plus

Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed if openings become available. These positions are not current vacancies. Instructors employed as part-time faculty are not entitled to all the rights, privileges, and benefits of regular, full-time employees. Part-time faculty are hired on an "as needed" basis and will work for the duration of time specified by the respective course. A portion of teaching assignment may be evening classes and possibly weekend classes. Faculty are assigned to teach courses using various delivery methods based on the teaching area and the needs of students and the College, which may require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Humanities, Liberal Arts, Art History, Classical Studies or a Master's Degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in Philosophy, English Literature, Arts, History, and Humanities or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in teaching Humanities coursework in higher education.

Salary Grade: AH
