Job summary

Palomar College seeks Part-time Faculty in Ethnic Studies to teach courses within the Ethnic Studies department. This opening supports a diverse student body at a Hispanic Serving Institution and participates in equitable, inclusive education.

Initial Placement Hourly Range: $75.81 – $119.20(instructional); $74.60 – $117.69 (non-instructional)

Minimum Qualifications:

Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under 1) through3):

  1. A Master's in African American/Black/Africana StudiesOR Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/oStudies, OR Asian American Studies,OR Native American/American Indian Studies.
  2. A Master's in Ethnic Studies.
  3. A combination of education and experience that is at least theequivalent of the qualifications in either 1) or 2) above. You mustcomplete and attach the Application for Equivalency form (www.palomar.edu/hr/equivalency-app/),if you do not possess the specific minimum qualifications as statedabove, which includes degrees that have not been awarded atthe time of submitting the application.

Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accreditedinstitutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will beconsidered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. Coursework anddegrees that are completed outside of the United States arerequired to have transcripts evaluated (evaluation to U.S.equivalency and a course by course analysis) by an appropriate U.S.credentials evaluation service.
