Job Description

Job Title: Part-Time Faculty, English

Department: College of Arts and Sciences

Reports to: Academic Program Director and Lead Faculty

FLSA: Exempt

Hours: As necessary to meet teaching guidelines

Location: This is an off-campus remote position requiring evening and weekend availability for classes and student interaction.

Job Summary

Part-time faculty provide teaching and instruction to Columbia Southern University students and collaborate with other faculty to promote an engaging learning environment. They serve as subject matter experts within their discipline.

Essential Job Tasks

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within the qualified discipline, including posting welcome videos and transcripts, engaging with students, conducting outreach, participating in classes, responding to inquiries, facilitating discussions, reviewing submissions, providing feedback, and hosting live lectures.
• Serve as course content expert, assist with curriculum review, resolve academic integrity issues, and participate in faculty development and mandatory trainings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Academic Program Director and Lead Faculty. Opportunity to serve as a Course Writer for additional stipends.

Education and Experience

For undergraduate courses: a terminal or master's degree in the discipline or related field, with specific credit hour requirements. For graduate courses: a terminal degree or equivalent with relevant experience. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
