Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description

The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University seeks a part-time faulty to teach ECN 203 Economic Ideas and Issues to undergraduate economic students.

Foundation of modern Western economic thought. The model economists have built on this foundation as applied to current issues facing individuals and society.

This position is anticipated to be filled on a fully remote basis. Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible. Employment offers at Syracuse University are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities, the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key competencies, the university’s strategic priorities, internal peer equity, applicable federal state, local laws, grant funding, and contractual requisites, and external market analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and/or updating class syllabus.
  • Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the start of class date.
  • Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
  • Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
  • Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
  • Meeting all designated class periods.
  • Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
  • Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
  • Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
  • Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
