A Typical Work Day May Include:
Respond to facility maintenance work ticket requests and track in maintenance log system.
Conduct minor repairs to buildings and equipment which may include carpentry, painting, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Maintain the outside of city-owned buildings in a neat and orderly fashion.
Conduct minor maintenance to HVAC and other building systems.
Provide assistance for city functions and events, including setting up tables and chairs for various activities and meetings.
Respond to janitorial emergencies.
Document information, such as future maintenance needs and plans, in the facility maintenance knowledge base system.
Replace light bulbs and ballasts when needed.
Stock supplies in storage rooms in a neat and orderly manner..
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
Assist with snow and ice preparation by placing salt on City Hall sidewalks.
Oversee weekly recycling removal from assigned city offices.
Provide excellent customer service to employees who request assistance and follow up as needed to ensure satisfaction with services provided.

What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
What Will Put You Ahead:
One year building maintenance experience
General knowledge of building maintenance and equipment maintenance.
Ability to operate all facility maintenance equipment.
Ability to meet and deal tactfully with other employees and the general public .
