Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is seeking a part-time Facility Maintenance helper for a 10 AM–2 PM shift. This role supports the Service Center Manager in maintaining the building, property and assets through field work and observations.

Responsibilities include inspections, coordinating with vendors, routine cleaning, minor repairs, audits, safety compliance and customer interaction. Opportunities exist for advancement within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age.
• Basic math skills required.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect building, properties and facility equipment and reporting repairs and recommendations.
• Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure quality and standards.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks within the building and on the property.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintain outdoor areas.
• Complete weekly and monthly audits for the service center.
• Complete monthly inspections.
• Clean the dock, yard, and office.
• Sweep and empty trash cans.
• Organize and tidy work areas.
• Complete other tasks as instructed.
• Notify Operations Supervisor of any equipment defects.
• Be available for irregular schedules and shift alterations.
• Interact effectively with customers and company personnel.
• Lift and carry boxes without assistance.
• Report accidents or injuries immediately.
• Work within safety requirements.

Overview

Shift time: 10 AM - 2 PM

Facility Maintenance is responsible for assisting the Service Center Manager in the overall maintenance of the Service Center building, property and assets through field work and observations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect building, properties and facility equipment and reporting repairs and recommendations to the Service Center Manager.
• Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors to ensure quality and standards are met.
• Responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks within the building and on the property.
• Responsible for minor repairs and maintaining outdoor areas.
• Complete weekly and monthly Service Center audits.
• Complete monthly inspections.
• Cleaning the dock, yard, and office
• Sweeping and Emptying Trash cans
• Organizing
• Complete other various tasks as instructed
• Timely communicate any known defects of equipment to Operations Supervisor on duty
• Available for irregular work schedules and for altering work shifts and/or assignments
• Effectively interact and converse with customers and company personnel
• Lift and carry boxes without assistance
• Report all accidents and/or injuries immediately to Operations Supervisor on duty
• Work within all company safety requirements
