Job summary

The City of Sarasota is seeking a part-time, temporary janitorial worker to maintain City-owned facilities. You will perform semi-skilled repairs, clean offices, mop floors, wash windows, and assist with event setup.

You may be required to open and lock facilities and ensure security during/after events. Ideal candidates have a High School or GED, at least one year of janitorial experience, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• One year janitorial experience with some repair work preferred.
• Valid State of Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled repairs on buildings and notify supervisor of repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings and facilities, mop floors, dust offices.
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork and blinds; vacuum and wax floors.
• Arrange chairs and equipment for meetings and events; secure facilities.
• Open/lock buildings and ensure security after shifts.
