Job summary

The City of Westerville is seeking a dependable cleaner to work from 1 PM to 6 PM on scheduled days. The role involves care, cleaning and maintenance of assigned city buildings and property.

Duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, restroom sanitizing, window washing, and outdoor sidewalk upkeep. The position requires the ability to lift, bend, and perform heavy manual labor, with basic knowledge of cleaning practices.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in building cleaning practices.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, buff and polish floors; shampoos carpets; washes windows and walls.
• Dust, polish, and clean tables, desks, and countertops; move tables, furniture and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies; clears drains.
• Replace light bulbs; empties trash containers; cleans and sanitizes.
• Sweep outside walkways; shovels and removes snow; cleans gutters.
• Assembles and puts up partitions.
• Closes and locks buildings; opens buildings; maintains the security of the buildings while performing essential functions.
• Loads and unloads cleaning supplies, materials and equipment; changes filters.
• Makes minor repairs to fixtures, walls, furniture and the like.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
